This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information in connection with our website and with alpha and beta versions of Droplets distributed through third-party app testing platforms, including Apple TestFlight and Google Play closed testing.
For the personal information described in this policy, Droplets Studio Ltd. is the controller. We handle personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection law.
This policy reflects the current, limited testing phase of Droplets. We expect our services and our privacy practices to develop before Droplets is released publicly.

We may update this policy from time to time by publishing a revised version on our website.
If we make a material change to how we use personal information we have already collected, we will take reasonable steps to bring that change to the attention of affected people where appropriate.

What personal information we collect
We may collect personal information directly from you when you:
participate in testing;
contact us;
send us feedback, screenshots, files or other information; or
make a request or complaint concerning your personal information.
We may also receive information through the platform used to distribute a particular test.
For tests distributed through Apple TestFlight, this may include information such as your name and email address, installation and session information, crash information, device or software information, and feedback or screenshots that you choose to submit.
For tests distributed through Google Play, this may include information used to manage access to a closed test, together with technical information made available through Google Play about the operation and stability of the app, such as crash and application-not-responding information.
Individual Droplets tests may also collect limited technical or usage information where this is reasonably necessary to understand whether the test is working as intended and to improve the app. Wherever practical, we will use aggregated or anonymised information for this purpose.
If a particular test collects personal information materially beyond what is described in this policy, we will explain that as part of the information provided for that test.
Please avoid including sensitive personal information in free-text feedback or screenshots unless it is genuinely necessary for the issue you are reporting.
Website information
Our current website does not use analytics or tracking cookies.
The website is hosted using GitHub Pages. GitHub may process routine technical information needed to operate and secure the service, including visitors' IP addresses.
How we use personal information and why
We use personal information only where we have a lawful basis for doing so.
For the current Droplets testing programme, we may use personal information to:
administer alpha and beta tests and communicate with testers;
investigate crashes, bugs, performance issues and other technical problems;
understand, in a limited and privacy-conscious way, how a test is functioning;
review tester feedback and improve Droplets;
respond to questions, support requests, privacy requests and complaints;
protect Droplets, our systems, testers and our legal rights; and
comply with legal obligations.
For most of these activities, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating, testing, securing and improving Droplets.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether the processing is necessary for those purposes and whether our interests are outweighed by the rights and interests of the people concerned.
We will not use information collected through testing for unrelated direct marketing without providing appropriate information and, where required, obtaining consent.
Who we share personal information with

Apple, in connection with tests distributed through TestFlight;
Google, in connection with tests distributed through Google Play;
businesses that provide website hosting, email, cloud hosting, technical or support services to us;
our professional advisers where necessary;
regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or other authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by law; and
any other third party where we are legally required to disclose information or where disclosure is necessary to protect our legal rights or comply with applicable law.
We do not sell personal information.
Apple, Google and our other service providers may also process information under their own terms and privacy practices. This policy describes Droplets Studio Ltd.'s use of personal information and does not replace their privacy information.
International transfers
Some of the service providers we use may process personal information outside the UK.
Where this involves a restricted international transfer of personal information, we will use a transfer mechanism permitted by UK data protection law where required.

How long we keep personal information

Apple, Google and other service providers may retain information independently in accordance with their own policies.

Access to personal information is limited to people and service providers who reasonably need it for the purposes described in this policy.
